Fear holds us back.
incuadible: Most of the time, fear gets in our way and walled us up from what we really are capable of. The fears that we have imprisoned us from what we can really do. If we were to knock that wall down, we will certainly be able to discover many things that we have never known before. Fear just have the purpose to push us back. We have to push forward and nothing can get in our way.

ROOTS: Rising Out of the Shadows
ROOTS is a young adults shelter right by UW that I have volunteered at a few times and it’s really a great place. Below is a newsletter I received from them. Stories like the one they shared in this newsletter are part of the reason why I am constantly rethinking and developing what community means to me. It’s part of the reason why I continue to do some of the things I do and in the...

I think it can be easy to put others before yourself and sometimes, selfish to do so.

It’s hard to find people who are just…real. You know, the kind of person who put others before themselves. Who is in every way, very selfless. The kind of person who will always listen, never ask for anything in return and has the kindest heart you’ll ever see. Those people are rare. So if you ever find someone like that, don’t ever take that person for granted. Cherish...

streetetiquette: “Most of us, no matter what we say, are walking in the dark, whistling in the dark. Nobody knows what is going to happen to him from one moment to the next, or how one will bear it. This is irreducible. And it’s true of everybody. Now, it is true that the nature of society is to create, among its citizens, an illusion of safety; but it is also absolutely true that the safety is...

Can't.
Bet you anything you’ll learn to stop using the word can’t if for every time you said it, you have to do x amount of push ups.

“Music speaks what cannot be expressed, soothes the mind and gives it rest, heals the heart and makes it whole, flows from heaven to the soul.” Cannot be more relevant right now. Although, I would also like to add that I feel the same way about dance.

On a more positive note,
I’m glad HHSA was able to be a part of the event today where Leila Steinberg gave her lecture. Hands down, I’d recommend anyone and everyone to attend an event or workshop with her. Very inspirational and moving. She has some powerful things to say and I learned a lot about her and the work she does. I also learned so much more about Tupac and who he was as a person. Really...

Definitely understand it….I think. We need the money. Simple enough I suppose, but I honestly don’t think taking in a new resident was a smart choice. And especially for their health. If you know my dad and have seen him lately, well you know he’s been losing weight. He works pretty much 24/7 and gets hardly any sleep. If you thought I never sleep, well shoot meet my dad first. I...
